Current Status of Unit: Active - Main Computer Sicarius (Latin - assassin) was designed in house by VerTecX21 and commissioned on 25th Sep 2015 to replace Apophis as the main computer. The design stage was conducted between July and September and finalised on September 7th 2015. Components were sourced and ordered from suppliers in Dublin (Ireland), Stafforshire (United Kingdom) and Eindhoven (The Netherlands). Sicarius was built around the Skylake 14 nm 6th Generation Core 17 processor on an Intel Z170 platform with 16GB of DDR4 RAM and a GeForce 980Ti GPU. It is the first VerTecx21 unit built with an M.2 NVMe and is also the first unit to be constructed without an optical drive.
