KERBEROS
Wolfdale class, 2008
Current Status: Decommissioned / Dismantled
On 24th Jul 2008 Bellerophon suffered chronic systems failure and was decommissioned. Kerberos [Greek for Cerberus, a three-headed Hellhound in Greek/Roman mythology] was designed and constructed in-house by VerTecX21 as a replacement using all of Bellerophon's peripheral equipment and much of it's internal components as the new Secondary System.
Kerberos, a Core2 Duo unit on a P35 chipset was specifically designed with a similar family of components to Maxximus the Primary System at the time. This was so that when Maxximus [an older but more powerful unit] would inevitably be replaced by a new Primary System and would be cycled out to Secondary System, Kerberos would be decommissioned and could donate some of it's components to provide upgrades to Maxximus for it's new role on VerTecXneT.
As theorised, Kerberos was decommissioned on 15th Jan 2012 after 3.5 years of service, was dismantled and donated it's Motherboard, RAM, HDDs and CPU cooler to Maxximus.
