Current Status of Unit: Active - Primary System
Tritonis (In Greek mythology: the goddess-nymph of the salt-water lake Tritonis in Libya, North Africa) had its design finalised on Feb 5th 2022. Parts were sourced from the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Portugal, Germany and the United States. It was commissioned on March 4th 2022 after an extensive build and test process. It replacd Sicarius as the Primary System after the latter unit had served for a phenomenal 6.5 years of continuous operation.
The PC component crisis of 2021 delayed the commissioning of Tritonis significantly, however the system was designed around the Intel Alder Lake 7 nm 12th Generation processor on an Intel Z690 platform with 32GB of DDR5 RAM and a NVIDIA Ampere GeForce RTX 30 series GPU.
Tritonis was the first VerTecx21 unit to not use a mechanical HDD and was also not originally designed with a SATA SSD. It was also be the first unit to have SuperSpeed (20Gbps) USB and 2.5GHz Ethernet capabilities.
